When: World Water Day – Friday, March 22, 6:30-9:00pm

Where: AI Toronto Office – 1992 Yonge St. 3rd floor (1 1/2 blocks north of the Davisville subway)

The AI Toronto Business & Human Rights and Indigenous Rights Group, in honour of World Water Day 2019,  invites you to a screening of  UpRivers

UpRivers is a documentary film about two Indigenous women, one in B.C. and one in Alaska,  fighting for their culture and land. They are doing this in the context of Canada’s largest environmental disaster – the 2014 tailings dam breach in Mount Polley, B.C.

One or both of the women will digitally join us for a Q & A – an opportunity to learn first hand how the disaster has affected their communities

As well:

  • Your artistic participation in the creation of a solidarity banner for the communities
  • Petitions to sign
  • Snacks

You can also come by any time after 4:30pm to work on the banner and sign petitions

Cost – Free!
