Film synopsis:

Abousfian Abdelrazik’s knows the value of home. Between 2003 and 2006, he was abducted, detained and tortured by Sudanese authorities at the behest of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS). When he was finally released in 2006, the Canadian government refused to issue him travel documents, denying his right to mobility, a right protected by the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. It took him three more long years to make his way home to Montreal, Canada. During this time, activists on the ground worked to spread his story in the media and lent him support through all the twists and turns of his journey. With intimate interviews and stylized recreations, The Long Way Home tells the story of Abdelrazik’s journey from Canada to Sudan and back again.
