Film Screening: MARIA IN NOBODY’S LAND

November 13 2019, 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm

$10

The AI Toronto Action Network for Women’s Human Rights (ANWHR) invites you to a screening of MARIA IN NOBODY’S LAND.

“Maria in Nobody’s Land” is an unprecedented and intimate look at the extremely dangerous and illegal journey of three Salvadoran women to the United States.  It provides a good overview of the migrant experience and their personal stories.  It, thus, gives a human face to the issues rather then more statistics. The film also touches on how governments and organizations might be able to help.

Discussion and Q&A will follow.

Gloria Nafziger – former AI Canada Refugee Issues Campaigner

John Carlaw -Research Associate of the Centre for Research on Latin America and the Caribbean and Centre for Refugee Studies
