Spirit of Aloha is a Toronto-based halau (school) engaged in sharing the beauty and knowledge of the Hawaiian culture through its art form - the HULA. Through the years, we have evolved from a simple dance school to one that incorporates Hawaiian history, culture, language and story on top of the songs and dances. Our ever-growing halau allows us to share the mele (song) and mana'o (ideas/notes) with both the young and the young-at-heart who come to learn.
Spirit of Aloha takes root in a strong sense of 'ohana' or family. It is present in how we choose to share our knowledge, how we interact with others, and how we celebrate the dance. In sharing, we discover much within ourselves and grow together. We are connected by a desire to learn more about this expressive form of dance that provides a fleeting glimpse into a beautiful culture. We will continue to spread the spirit of aloha and share our passion for hula among all who cross our paths and welcome them with open arms.
